I'm Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Virginia in beautiful Charlottesville, Va. My research interests are divided between metaphysics, political philosophy, feminist philosophy, and ethics. I'm particularly interested in the places where these topics overlap. My book The Minority Body (OUP, 2016) is about the nature of disability and my book Health Problems (OUP, 2023) is about the nature of health (which got weirdly personal). I also think a lot about the metaphysics of social and political structures.
I am lucky enough to be married to this guy. We share our lives with neurotic border collies.
